MAYPOLE MP501B Breakaway Cable RED 1M x 3MM – Vehicle fitting: carabiner, Trailer fitting: burst ring. Some spares are essential, as without one of these you can’t legally tow.

General Products…

Lanolin Marine & Chassis Liquid – I’ve been using lanolin based protection for vehicles for over 20 years. All our vehicles get a protective coat on the underside, including all suspension components and re-coated after a few years or as required. It’s helped keep all out vehicles protected from corrosion. I recently changed over to this product as it’s easier to apply and slightly thinner so sprays on much more evenly. This size bottle easily did the whole of the underside of our VW Amarok.

Vehicle Doorstep with Safety Hammer – Vehicle folding foot peg hooks under the door latch allowing an easy step up so you can easily access your roof box or roof rack. One of the neatest ideas I’ve seen in a while. We keep ours in the glove box.

3 M Perfect-It Gelcoat Medium Cutting Compound + Wax – Recommended by The Caravan Nut… and I agree with him, a great way to restore the fibreglass front on your caravan. I’d highly recommend this to bring back the ‘new’ shine to all your fibreglass and it also gives it a protective wax coating too!

HYCOTE Truck Bed Liner, 400ml – basically used this on various projects as a go-to hard covering for metalwork. Recoated the tow bar on the Freelander with it and it’s proving to be much better than the original coating.

ERAYAK TPMS Tyre Pressure Monitoring System, Auto Measure Tire Temperature and Pressure, with Low Pressure Warning System – Tried several of the ‘known’ brands and looked for alternatives. This was cheap, it works and I actually think it’s better.

Holts Brake Cleaner – Always have a can of this to hand when hitching up. A quick rub over the tow ball with wire wool then a squirt of this stops any creaking and keeps the tow hitch pressure pads contaminant free.

General Tools

HS-519 Cable Tie Gun Tensioning and Cutting Tool for Plastic Nylon Cable Tie or Fasteners – If you are creating your own wiring looms or adding cables into existing looms nothing looks better than getting ll your cable ties exactly the right tension and trimmed off neatly. I’ve had one of these for about 3 years replaying one that was about 10 years old.

Ega Master 68215 – Steel Tube Bender 12 Mm W/Roller – I got this for a project and subsequently used it to make new arms for my Aero Mirrors… and a new cat hammock to hang on the radiator!

Cold Pressed Steel Tube – 12mm x 1mm x 1m – Used on my new Aero Mirror arms project. Since used it for a number of different projects.
